Our Vision

Each sanctuary will be built on a 20-acre parcel of lightly wooded land.  The housing area for the dogs will be located behind the main entrance, so that all visitors will be assigned to a volunteer and accompanied on a tour of the various areas.  The dogs will be assigned to their breed specific areas and then placed in a small group yard with a heated and cooled shelter and plenty of room to play.

Each building at the sanctuary, including the individual dog shelters, will be built according to green seal standards as accredited by ANSI. Building materials will be made from sustainable materials or from recycled products, and will have low emission levels.  We will be entirely self-contained and produce most of our energy needs through the use of solar and photo-voltaic panels. We will be collecting rainwater for cleaning purposes and the waste from the dogs will be placed in a tank (a digester) and bacteria will be used to break down the waste into methane, which will be used in place of natural gas for energy needs. Solar panels on each dog house will provide the energy for heating and cooling.

There will be scheduled times for visitation and people will be able to see how the dogs play and socialize with their housemates.  Small areas will be available for a family to play with a prospective adoptee so they can all get to know each other.

Our goal is to keep the dogs happy and to socialize them with people and other dogs on a continuous basis so that they become ideal candidates for adoption. Each dog will be put through a battery of testing, including aggression testing relating to food, cages, animal, fear and children, and we will have socialization experts on staff to assist with adoption recommendations.

Each sanctuary will offer much more than just dogs available for adoption.  Each location will also have a small strip of stores that will offer boarding, grooming, veterinary care, daycare and pet supplies. The rental income from these ancillary businesses will fund the sanctuary and offer pet owners a place where they can have all of their pets' needs taken care of.
